It's so discouraging!
I have been reading news stories about the Tax Day Tea Parties. It is so disheartening and infuriating to see that the majority of people believe that those who went were all racist and that they were all right-wing Republicans who think Bush did a great job. That could not be further from the truth!!
The people that went to our local event that I know personally were not attending because they are racist. They went because they believe that our government is abusing it's power. They went because the 'bailouts' made them angry. They went because the idea of government control of private business is abhorrent. They went because they are afraid that their freedom to attend such a protest will be taken away by a government that no longer cares for it's citizens.
Yes they are opposed to Obama's policies. Things like his ideas on taxation and community service and healthcare and many other things. It has nothing to do with his race (at least for those who I know personally that went) and everything to do with policy.
Those who are tagging the tea parties as protests specifically against Obama are wrong!! This has been brewing for awhile. Remember that the 'bailout' was Bush's idea! As was the Patriot Act. STOP making this about race! When the only answer to the concerns of those who went is a cry of "RACISM" they have no alternative but to believe that they are right. There can be no dialogue, no discussion.
Those who label the tea party attendees as uniformed may seem to have a point, unless you consider that there were such a variety of reasons that people went. There were many different groups organizing events. The AFA, AFP, WeSurroundThem, C4L, etc. There were so many issues that it may seem as though they didn't know why they were there. They did, they just had different reasons.
I admit that there were there the stereotypical Republican 'sheeple' who were only there because they were mad their man didn't get in, but I do not believe they were in the majority (at least I hope not!).
One thing did strike me in one article. Apparently 'tea-bagging' has some lewd sexual connotation. News to me. But then I don't have my mind in the gutter as the liberals seem to! :P
I do think that all of those people who went need to unite around one common purpose, the defense of the Constitution! We must all coalesce in the one issue of the violations of our Constitution by our elected leadership.

The Tea Party protestors are racist?!
I listened to this whole thing and these are the thoughts I had as she spoke:
1) I am not a racist
2) I am not part of the 'right-wing'
3) I am not a redneck
4) I am NOT a racist
5) I do not hate Obama because he is black
6) I am not a 'white power' activist
7) I do not have a neurological problem
8) I am NOT A RACIST!!
9) I do know my history
10) I don't watch FOX news
11) I am not a racist!
12) I am not a member of the Klan (don't even approve of such nonsense)
13) I have no objection to a black man being in the white house.
I cannot believe that she said that so many times! And then the part about it being a neurological disorder. The left is NEVER guilty of spinning stuff and working up the 'rabble'!! And a Democrat NEVER started a war! Do these people even have a brain? Or have they just been brainwashed by the leftist news media? Has SHE read history?"

There are many more times that our troops were sent overseas for military action, but those are the biggies. As you can see neither party can claim that the other is 'warmongering' since they are both guilty. Emma
My lovely second daughter will be 12 tomorrow!
Emma is such a joy. She is sweet and compassionate. She is so observant of everything! She is growing into a wonderful young woman. I love it when she tells me of some new discovery she has made. I love it when I see her being kind to her younger siblings and helping them with something. I love it that she does such a good job making her daddy's lemon water for him when he comes home from work. I was humbled the time she confessed to having a bad attitude about something and was repentant. She will make some man a great helpmeet one day.

The Obama Deception
Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat or a Libertarian or a Constitutionalist you need to watch this whole video. InfoWars is non-partisan. They have also done documentaries exposing Bush. The POTUS is just a front man for who is really controlling the economy and the politics of our country. Jesse Ventura says, "...it's just showbiz...". Sad but true.
America is being handed to socialists, PLEASE America don't let that happen. Now is the time to stand up, get involved, and stop our country's slide to communism. Socialism/Communism has never worked anywhere! It has only served to enrich the elites and to further impoverish the masses.

Tea Party
The kids and I went to our local 'Tea Party' on Wednesday. This morning I watched the news coverage of it online.
It was encouraging to see so many people show up. There were at least 300 people at each one (there were two locally one at noon and another at six). I was disappointed by the news. The news people introduced it as a protest against Obama. That was not what it was really about. These people are not upset only because of Obama's economic policy, although that is a big issue, they are upset because the government is consistently overstepping it's Constitutional bounds. Both Democrats and Republicans are guilty of that.
We want our Republic (not democracy) preserved. We want the government back in it's box!
I do wish that Repulicans who were at the tea parties would open their eyes a little more to the wrongs done by their own party. When they reduce their argument to partisanship they destroy their credibility. The GOP is not the answer to the Constitutional crisis our country is in. Republicans are part of the problem!! Can we say "Patriot Act"?! And lets not forget that the GOP had the White House and both houses of Congress for at least two years and did basically nothing! Bush did not use that time to fulfill any of his campaign promises, like privatizing Social Security.
Someone at the C4L (Campaign for Liberty) meeting last night said that the one good thing about Republicans is their determination not to be parted from their guns. They have put a line in the sand and that is good. I agree. I don't think that the Obama administration will put an outright ban on guns, but that they will make it so difficult and so expensive that will effectively be a ban while they will still be claiming to uphold the second amendment.
I hope that Americans are really waking up, it may be too late already, but I hope not.

The garden...(and other miscellaneous ramblings)
is just waiting for the seedlings to mature. I am getting a late start I suppose but there has been bad weather (60 mph gusts) and then snow and sick kids and a lost cat and fundraising for Kyla's Zambia trip and karate and gymnastics...You get the idea.
So next week we will plant and hopefully I will remember to charge my camera and then upload pics before it goes dead again.
I am pleased with how much work I did on that garden. It was hard work and I am not the hard-working type! LOL
After the planting I want to paint the eaves on the house and so some work on the front yard.
We are planning a yard sale for next weekend...trying to help along our $1000 emergency fund as our Baby Step #1 in Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover".
Then there is a possibility (a very small one) the hubby will be going to preach at my mom's church next month and then perhaps a jaunt up to hubby's grandpa's 84th birthday party. (Those would have to be trips that were at the same time, Mom and Dad live about halfway between us and where the party is)
Well that is all I have time for right now. I will be back to do a political blog later I am fuming over so many things and writing it out will help!

Sara is 9 mos!
Well she actually turned 9 mos over a week ago!
She had her 9 mo check at the pediatrician on Monday. She is only 14.2 lbs. But she is active and her height and head growth are fine. The ped did detect a heart murmur and so now we have an appt with the cardiologist in June. I am not worried about that. I had a murmur as an infant so it is likely nothing.
Sara loves food! Especially Chili!! LOL I am so glad I bought that baby food grinder! She doesn't care for baby food but she will whatever we are having. I was worried that the Chili would be too spicy for her, but she loved it!! And so far it seems to have agreed with her okay. I bought her a sippy cup because she likes water and I figured she would like to use the cup herself. We only had it a few hours before the cat (Myth) chewed the 'nipple' part up! Crazy cat!!
Sara is crawling everywhere and pulling up. She does this cute little thing where she pushes up to her feet when she is crawling. Sara loves to play peek-a-boo. She likes to play on the bed with Mommy. She loves the bath, only problem is that she keeps putting her face in the water. I must watch her constantly! She also loves the trampoline! I really need to upload pics from my camera...
She absolutely adores Wesley, he is definitely her favorite sibling-for now anyway! She likes the other kids too, but she always has a broad grin for Wes. She liked Daddy too...as long as he is an arms length away and she is in Mommy's arms...poor Daddy!
I can hardly believe that so much time has passed! It moves too Fast! She will be a year soon...and then she'll be walking, talking, and before I am ready she'll want to drive! I must remember to cherish these days...they are gone too quickly!
